From Farm to Flavor: The Story Behind 24 Karrot Spread

By: Michale Ennis and Eduard Supler

A single taste that sparked a week-long obsession and ultimately turned into a business built on heart, heritage, and community. That moment became the foundation of 24 Karrot Spread, a brand rooted in the belief that food should be both meaningful and memorable, bringing people together while honoring where it comes from.

Michael Ennis had recently transitioned to a healthier eating lifestyle when his friend Eduard Supler shared a family recipe that just so happened to be what Michael was looking for. From the very first taste, Michael was hooked. Over the next week, he couldn’t stop thinking about how unique and delicious the dip was, unlike anything he had ever tried before. He finally asked Eduard if he had ever thought about marketing it. Eduard replied, “No.” Without hesitation, Michael responded, “How about we do it together?” And just like that, the idea for 24 Karrot Spread was born. Co-Founders and Co-Owners, Eduard & Michael had gone from friends to business partners and what followed is nothing short of amazing.

The inspiration behind 24 Karrot Spread comes directly from Eduard’s uncle in Germany, a cherished family recipe filled with history and heart. It’s the kind of food meant to be shared, enjoyed around a table with family and friends, where laughter flows and stories are told, even the ones people once hoped would be forgotten.

At the core of 24 Karrot Spread is a strong commitment to local sourcing. We work closely with nearby farms to gather fresh, high-quality produce, ensuring every batch reflects the richness of the land and the dedication of the farmers who grow it. Supporting local agriculture isn’t just a business decision, it’s a value we stand by. We believe in strengthening community ties and keeping our impact close to home. We also use glass jars to minimize our carbon footprint, offer a discount to customers who return empty jars for recycling, and proudly sell our products at local farmers markets and small business shops throughout Monmouth County and New Jersey.
Our spread is small-batch and handcrafted, allowing us to maintain care and quality in every jar. From chopping and cooking to packaging and labeling, every step is done by us and done with purpose. We pride ourselves on transparency, freshness, and authenticity. No shortcuts. No mass production. Just real ingredients and real flavor.

24 Karrot Spread is incredibly versatile. Customers enjoy it on charcuterie boards, sandwiches, crackers, roasted vegetables, and even as a glaze or marinade. Some of our loyal fans use it as ravioli filling, on pizza, or in fancy grilled cheese creations, just to name a few! Seeing how creative people get with our product has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey. Food is personal, and we love knowing our spread becomes part of family gatherings, date nights, and celebrations.

Beyond the product itself, what matters most to us is connection. Whether we’re meeting customers at local markets, collaborating with fellow small businesses, or hearing stories about how our spread is being enjoyed, we’re constantly reminded why we started this in the first place. We believe in supporting one another, celebrating small wins, and growing together.

As 24 Karrot Spread continues to expand into new markets, we remain grounded in our original mission: create something delicious, support local, and build community through food, all while giving back to the community of Asbury Park, which has given so much to us. This is just the beginning, and we’re excited to see where the journey takes us next.
