Dear Editor,
August 1st is the kick-off of the AP’3 Film Challenge. This once a year, filmmaker event brings people into our city to create a 3 minute video, filmed entirely in the city over 3 weeks, August 1-21st. It is the only filmmaking event in AP, and it is grassroots driven, having been started 4 years ago by and with the backing of the Asbury Park Arts Council, and showcases filmmakers from the community and the local area. A fun, team activity The Challenge requires filmmakers to use supplied prompts and the city of Asbury Park as the backdrop for their films. The AP’N3 brings filmmaking to the community and into our city, democratizing it for all. If you have a smart phone and a story to tell, you can be a filmmaker, register now. Watch for the filmmaking going on soon, in a location near you.
